Chowan County, NC - Alexander Cheshire - Act to Legitimate

An Act to legitimate Alexander Cheshire, of the town of Edenton,
and county of Chowan

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina,
and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and
after the passage of this act, Alexander Cheshire, an illegitimate
son of John Chesire [sic] and Elizabeth Benson, of the town of
Edenton, is hereby declared legitimate; and that he shall be known
and called by the name of Alexander Cheshire; and by that name may
sue and be sued; plead and be impleaded; and receive and take property
by descent or distribution.
