All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carolyn Shank Carolynshank@msn.com March 9, 2008, 3:58 pm Source: Friday, Jan. 27, 1809 Edenton Gazette Written: January 17, 1809 Recorded: January 27, 1809 NOTICE OF ATTACHMENT ON SCHOONER, DELIGHT STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA CHOWAN COUNTY Whereas application has been made this 17th day of January, 1809, made to me, HENRY FLURY, one of the Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid, on oath by GEORGE SMALL, of the County aforesaid, that ALEXANDER CUNNINGHAM of the State of Virginia, is justly indebted to thim in the sum of twenty-one pounds, eight and six pence; and the said GEORGE SMALL having given security according to the Act of the General Assembly in such cases made and provided; and having filed his affidavit as to the justicee of this debt; I have granted an attachment against the estate of ALEXANDER CUNNINGHAM, which has been returned, "attached the schooner, Delight, of Norfolk, Vir." at present lying and belonging along side of MR. JOHN SKINNER'S wharf in Edenton, -- after which being returned, I have given judgment for the sum due him, the said SMALL; and according to the directions of the law, I now give public notice, that unless the said CUNNINGHAM, his agent or factor, comes forward at the expiration of 30 days and replevies his property, final judgment will be entered up against him and the property so attached will be sold by the Sheriff.
