North Carolina Know all men by those presents that we Mary Hobbs 
Richard Freeman and Guy Hill all of the County of Chowan in the 
province of Jointly & Severally do Stand Bound unto the Worshipfull 
Thomas Luten and the Rest of the Justices of the said Court and 
their Successors in the Sum of L125, Procalamtion money the which 
payment well and truly to be made and done we bind us and either of 
us our & either of our heirs Exors Admors firmly by these presents 
Sealed with our Seals and Dated this 18 Day of July 1754

The Condition of this obligation is such that whereas the above
boundon Mary Hobbs was the Day and year of sd appointed
Guardian of Mary, Barnaby, Demsey, Elisha, Mosas and
Sarah Hobbs Minors of Tho. Hobbs Decd and by order
of the said Court is Authorized Impowered to take into his
hands and possession all the Estate of the afd Minors whensoever
wheresoever in this Court to be found now if the said Mary Hobbs
her heirs Exor or Admors shall and do Render a true & Just acct
of such Estate of the sd orphans Estate that shall come into his hands
or possession or into the hands or possession of any other persons 
whatsoever by his order or procursement and the Same Goods and 
Chattels I have pay or cause to be paid and Delivered unto the said 
orphan when Lawfully Demanded in kind Quantity and Quality as recd & 
shall in all things acc. perform & Execute the office & Duty of a 
Guardian for & towards the said orphan and also shall render a true & 
Just acct. to said County Bonds all or any times when the said
Mary Hobbs shall be thereto required so that the said Justices
of the said Court Shall be always Saved & kept harmless
from of & Concerning the Estate of the said orphans then the
above obligation to be Void & of in Effect otherwise to be &
remain in full force & Virtue
