Power of Attorney - Mary Bush to John Falconer -  26 May 1721   

North Carolina Ps

Know all men by these presents that I Mary Bush the wife of John Bush planter 
of the precinct of Chowan at Wickacone now dwelling doo hereby these presents 
make ordain constitute & appoint my true trusty & beloved friend John Falconer 
of the precinct & province aforesaid to be my true & lawfull attorney in my 
stead & behalfe with as full power as if I myself were there present to 
acknowledge my right of Dower of the one half of a Tract of Land containing 
520 acres of land by patent lying upon Barbicue Swamp & Joyning on Bryary 
Branch sold by my husband John Bush as aforesaid unto Mr Edward Bryant 
(without any manner of compulsion but of my own free will.) - I doe 
acknowledge my right of Dower as aforesaid of the Land abovesaid & to the 
person abovementioned, by my Attorney, abovenamed as witness my hand & Seal 
this 26th day of May 1721.

Att a Court held for Chowan precinct at the Court house in Edenton the 18th 
day of July 1721 - The within power of attorney from Mary Bush to John 
Falconer was proved by the Oath of Thomas Macklendin one of the evidences 
thereto & a motion is ordered to be recorded & it is recorded.
