Written: October 7, 1833
Recorded: April 12, 1834

    M Jordan ] This indenture made the seventh day of October one
    to & Deed] thousand  eight hundred & thirty three between Docton M 
  Moses Birum] Jordan of the one part of North Carolina Chowan County
and Moses Birum of the county & state aforsaid of the other part wit =
=nesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & twenty
dollars to him in hand paid by the said Moses Birum the receipt
whereof I the said Docton M Jordan doth acknowledge myself
therewith fully satisfied contented & paid have given granted & barg=
=ained and sold unto him the said Moses Birum a certain piece
or parcel of land being in county & state aforsaid butted & bounded
as follows begining at a pine a corner tree in Willis Jordans line
then along Willis Jordans line to Noah Hollowells line then along 
the said Hollowells line to the said Moses Birums line near
the head of the White Oak Branch in another tract of land of his
then along his line down the said branch to James Byrums line
then along his line still down the sd branch to the center of three
cypress which h mark called Exum Jordan corner then along the 
line called Exum Jordans through the old field the first station
containing thirty nine acres & two tenths of land more or less unto him
the Moses Birum his heirs & assigns forever freely & clearly acquit
& discharge from me my heirs & assigns forever with every part
& parcel therunto belonging or in any way appertaining unto him
the said Moses Birum his heirs & assigns forever And further more
I the said Docton M Jordan do promise to warrant secure & forever
defend the above bargained premises from any lawfull claim or 
claims of any person or persons whatsoever in witness whereof
I the said Docton M Jordan have hereunto set my hand & fict my 
seal the day and year above written.  Signed sealed & delivered in presence

Court.} March term 1834. The forgoing Deed was exhibited
in open cour.t proved by the oath of William Birum one of the
subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be Registered.

Additional Comments:
Docton Jordan is my G-G- Grandfather .He seems to have sold his inheritance of 
land from his father Nathan Jordan and moved to Perquimans County North 
Carolina where he died . Willis Jordan and Exum Jordan are his brothers. One 
brother Noah had already received his part from Nathan. There was also a sister 
Mary.
