Carteret Palatine & the rest of the true and absolute Lords proprietors of Carolina To all to whom these presents shall Come Greeting in our Lord God Everlasting Know ye that wee the P. Lords etc. Absolute proprietors for & in Consideration of Eleven Pounds four shillings in hand Paid to our Reesiver General by Elizabeth Blount Do hereby Give grant Sell alien Enforce Confirm Unto the sd. Elizabeth Blount a Tract of Land Containing five hundred and Sixty Acres lying in Chowan Precinct beginning at a Red Oak in Cow field Swamp on Sam’l. Pagsts Line thence N 49 E 46 Pole to Gum then S 87 E 6 pole to a pine then N 6 E 198 pole to an Oak then S 95 E 24 pole to a pine then N 80 E 124 pole to an Oak in Bear Swamp then N 84 W 430 pole to a pine in William Woodleys Line then S: 40 E 140 pole then S 26 E 304 pole along Pagsts line to the first Station. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the sd. Land with all Rights priviledgese of hunting & hawking fishing and fowling with all woods Waters Rivers with all profits Commodities & Hereditaments to the Same belonging or Appertaining, Except One half of all Gold & Silver mines, unto her the Sd. Elizabeth Blount his [changed to ‘her’] heirs & Assigns for Ever Yielding & paying Unto our heirs & Successors Yearly Every Twenty Ninth day of September the fee rents of One Shilling for Every Hundred Acres hereby Granted to the holdn of us our heirs, Successors in free and Common Soccage. Given under the Seal of the Collony the Seventeenth of Aprile Anno Dom’e 1723.
