Or to his Deputy

You are to layout unto John Bush 520 Acres of Land using due etc & observing 
etc. Given etc. this 9th day of Octo’r 1715.

Surveyed by Vertue of the within War’t  520 Acres for John Bush.

His Excell’y the Hon’ble Jno. Ld. Carteret Palatine etc.  To all to whom etc., 
Know yee etc. According To a Great deed etc. Doe  hereby Give and Grant unto 
John Bush of the Said County a Tract of Land Conteyning 520 Acres being in 
Chowan precint on ye West side of Barbeque Beginning at ye mouth of ye Briery 
branch then up Barbeque So. 25 d. Wt 100 pole then So. 100 pole to a maple on 
ye Swamp Side yn [thence] W 240 pole to a pine yn  Bi,344 pole to a pine in 
the Tract of ye Holly Branch.  Then No. 80 d Et. 170 pole to ye Center of 3 
pines in Francis MacAndrews line then along  his Line So to a live oake in the 
Briery Branch thence the meanders of ye Branch to ye First Station being due 
etc. 

To have and to hold or accept etc. unto him ye said John Bush his Heires & 
Asseynes for ever in as Large and .....etc, manner etc. Yielding & paying 
yearly the Fee Rent of one Shilling For every Fifty Acres to be held & 
provided etc. Given etc. this 19th day of Octo’br 1716.
