You are forthwith to measure etc. and lay out unto John Cotton 640 Acres of 
Land etc. Observing etc Given etc 1720.

His Excell'y John Ld. Carteret  Pal'n. etc. To all etc. Doe Give etc. unto 
John Cotton a Tract of Land con't 640 Acres lyeing in Chowan Precinct begin'g 
at a hickory standing on ye N E side of ......... Meadow running thence S 70 W 
920 pole to a hickory in Garter Meadows yn S 20 E 320 pole to a red oake by 
Ring Meadow yn N 70 E 320 pole to a White in a pond thence to yn First Station 
being due E'st.

To have etc. Yielding etc Yearly etc. yee Fee rent of one Shilling for etc. 
Provided etc. Given etc. March ye 30/ 1721.
