Deed of Conveyance - Edward Smithwick to St. Paul's Church, Edenton

North Carolina - to all Christian People to whom these presents shall come in 
our Lord God Everlasting sends Greating know ye that I Edw'd Smithwick of the 
presinct of Chowan: for me my Heirs Exec'rs and Admin'rs, do by these presence 
freely Clearly and absolutely Give Grant Eline make over and confirm forever 
unto Tho's Luten and Will'm Wilkison Church Wardens of the pres't of Chowan in 
North Carolina seventy yards Square of Land for to build and Erect a Church; 
and the Church to Stand in the middle of the S. Land for the use of the said 
parish for ever, the said Land to be on the Road or the Highway from Tho's 
Gylliums in the Woods Joining on the old field of the Sd. Mr. Edw'd. Smithwick 
the same Land to have and to hold occupy'd enjoy for the use of the afores'd 
pres't from Henceforth and for ever without Let hindrance molestation or 
interruption of me the s'd Smithwick my Heirs, Exec'rs or any other person or 
persons whatsoever Claiming by from or under me in as firm and absolute a 
manner as the Law or the most Learned in the Law can devise invent or Imagin 
to all Intents purposes or Construction in Witness whereof I have hereunto set 
my hand and fixed my Seal this seventh Day of April in the year of our Lord 
Seventeen hundred & two and the fourteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign 
L'd. William the 3'd of England Scotland france and Ireland King.
