Nov. 23, 1819 Edenton Gazette November 23, 1819 -- We learn that the brig, "William," of this port [Edenton], owned and commanded by CAPT. NATHANIEL BISSELL, foundered and sunk at sea on her passage from St. Thomas to New Orleans. -- CAPT BISSELL and Crew saved, and carried into Havana. Previous to the loss, CAPT. BISSELL was robbed by a Pirate and his black crew of 25 bags of Coffee.
