We notice the following: The Chowan Regiment merits great praise, not for its skill or tactics, for this almost entirely without information, but for the excellent appearance and the strong desire is manifested to receive instruction. The Regiment formed at about 11 o’clock. After remaining on parade until one, it was disbanded for an hour and a half. The Officers all dined together. At the beat of drums the Regiment was almost immediately formed again without confusion or disorder. Various exercises and evolutions were performed and repeated until nearly night. This Regiment wants nothing but information. The two majorities are perhaps very fortunately vacant. If the Regiment has within its territorial bounds, two men of military skill, it may, by obtaining their services in the offices now vacant become one of the first and most respectable in the State. A Volunteer Company composed of the young men of Edenton, commanded by CAPTAIN Mc DONALD, made a very elegant and truly martial appearances. This Company owes much to the individuals of MESSRS. Mc DONALD and McCOTTER , as well as to the becoming pride and spirit which generally pervades it. A company commanded by CAPT. CREECY, a promising young officer , attracted particular attention by its handsome homespun uniform. A small, but handsome company of Artillery commanded by CAPT. ELLIOTT was attached to the Regiment.
