   A young man by the name of JORDAN was drowned on the 14th inst. in the Mill 
Pond of RICHARD T. BROWNRIGG, ESQ., where he had gone to bathe with some of 
his associates. After being in the water a short time, it was discovered that 
he could not swim and his companions, after considerable persuasion, got him 
to go out and put on his clothing. Not, however, wishing to be outdone, he 
made a second trial, when the sad consequences ensued.
