ANNIE ASBELL CUSHMAN

Rites Saturday For Mrs. Cushman

  Mrs. Annie Asbell Cushman, 44, of 5552 Novella Ave., Norfolk, daughter of Mrs. 
Geneva Green Asbell of Suffolk, died today at 8 a.m. at the Obici Memorial 
Hospital after an illness of four weeks.

  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home 
by the Dr. Hampden H. Smith, pastor of Main Street Methodist Church, and the 
Rev. George S. Lightner, pastor of Monumental Methodist Church, Portsmouth.  
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

  A member of Main Street Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late 
William J. Asbell of Chowan County, N.C. Besides her mother, she is survived by 
her husband, Red Eugene Cushman of the home; two sisters, Mrs. T.W. Saunders, of 
Nansemond County, and Mrs. William J. Walsh of Portsmouth; three brothers, John 
Asbell and William J. Asbell of Suffolk, and Ralph Martin Asbell of Nansemond 
County.
