The Edenton Gazette  Nov. 18, 1828
   DIED, at his residence in Chowan County, on Sunday morning last, after a 
lingering illness, JEREMIAH MIXSON, ESQ., one of the most respectable 
inhabitants of the county. MR. MIXSON had been, for many years, an active 
Magistrate; several times a member of the Assembly, and his death may be 
viewed as a public calamity.
