I Michael King of North Carolina in Bartie County being very sick of body but in Perfect mind & Memory praise be therefore Given to Allmighty God do make & ordain this my presant Last will & Testament in manner & form following, (that is to say) First & Principally, I Commend my soul into the hands of Allmighty God, hoping that through the merrits Death & passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ, to have full & free pardon & forgiveness of all my sins, & to Inherit Everlasting Life & my body I Commit to the Earth to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named; & as -oucking all such Temporal Estate as it hath pleased Allmighty God to bestow upon me I Give & Dispose thereof as Followeth. Item. I give bequeath unto my Loving Wife Isbell King* five Negroes Viz; hary Tower hill bes hannah & murrear? for her Life further more I give & bequeath unto my loving wife one bed & Furniture, & two horses Namely prince & ball & a Sidesaddle, my Cattle & Sheep to be Equally Divided amongst them & as for my hogs I give & bequeath to Each of my Children three sows & pigs when they Come of age & the remainder of the hogs to my wife. I further-more give unto my Loving wife one Gold ring during her life & after her Death to my son Michaell King. Item: I Give & bequeath unto my Loving Son Michaell King two Negroes Viz; Green & Isbell & their Increas & an Equal part of the moveable Estate, Likewise one mare & a new Tradeing Gun. Furthermore I give & bequeath unto my Loving Son Michael one tract or parcel of Land Containing by Estimation Two Hundred & Fifty Acres it being a peice of Land that I bought off Richard Byrd. Item: I give & bequeath unto my Loving Son Henry King Two Negroes Viz; Robin & Pegg & his part of all the Moveable Estate & one Mare & a Tradeing Gun, & my mannor Plantation & Land adjouning to in all Containing Two hundred & Twenty Five Acres. Item. I give and bequeath unto my Loving son John King Three Negroes Viz Jack Taffey & Frank them & their Increas for Ever, & his Equal part of the Moveable Estate & a Young horse to my Loving son John Called Sterling. Item. I Give to my Loving Daughter Catherine King one Negroe Girl Called or Named pat & her part of the Moveable Estate. Item: I Give & bequeath to my Loving Daughter Isbell King one Negroe Girl Called Sary & her part of the moveable Estate. Item: I Give & bequeath to my Loving Daughter Penelope King one Negroe girl Called Vilet & if so bes the dies of the Sickness she dies with that she shall have the child that bes is now with Child with, & her part of the moveables; Item: I give & bequeath to my Daughter Mary King one negroe girl called Pressilla & her part of the moveables; The five negroes that I give unto my Loving wife after her Death to be Equally Divided among my Children & their Increase. I do make & ordain my Loving wife & Coll Robt West & his son Robt West my True & Lawfull Exts of this my Last will & testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this 20 day of may 1741. Michael was then of sound & disposeing mind & memory. J. Isabel Ferguson was the daughter of Anne Woodnut-Ferguson. Anne Ferguson was the 2nd wife of Robert Bell of Bertie County NC.
