Chowan County, NC - Wills File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jackie Hudgins Will of Thomas Parker, Chowan Co., NC Will Book A, p. 220 In the name of God amen I Thomas Parker of Chowan County being sick and weak of Body but thanks be to god of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertain State of this life do make constitute and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following first I recommend my soul to god who gave it and my Body to the Earth hoping to obtain thro this merit[?] of my saviour a happy Resurrection and as touching my temporal Estate which almighty God has bestowed upon me after my just debts are paid I give and bequeath as follows. I give to my son THOMAS MY MANOR PLANTATION UNTO IT BELONGING CONTAINING TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY THREE ACRES TO BE THE SAME more or less to him and his heirs forever. It is my desire that all the remainder part of my Estate both real and personal be equally devided among my nine children Viz PRICILLA, SARAH, ABM, ABSOLAM, JUDITH, RUTH, TELPAH, THOMAS & MARGARET Lastly I nominate and appoint my daughter Pricilla and my friend Jethro Benton to be executrix and Executor of this my last will Revoking all former Wills by me made heretofore and acknowledge this only to be my last Will In Witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 23rd day of August 1762.
