Ledford Cemetery - Clay County, North Carolina - Cemeteries (Approx. 11 Names) Ledford Cemetery is located approximately .8 mile off U.S. 64 East of Hayesville off Ledford's Chapel Church Road, Rd # 1151. This road was originally part of the road to the Shooting Creek Community until the TVA built Lake Chatuge. This cemetery comprises one acre of an original forty-two which served as the home place for Henly & Amelia E. Ledford. This acre was set aside for burial purposes. Care of the cemetery was performed by Ethel & Carlton Ledford and their family until taken over by Belle Rogers and her daughter, Mary Rogers Hill. They tended the cemetery for fifteen years and until Mary's death. It is not sure who is currently taking care of this small family cemetery. This survey was performed by Mrs. Dorothy Shepherd.
