Inf. F Company. Capt. Abraham Waters and Pvt. James Andrew Bryant were killed together on the 27th. of June 1862 at Gains mill and they are buried close by in the Hollywood Cemetery Richmond Va. The other cousin, David Ramsour Hoyle, was wounded but took Command of F Company on June 28th 1862. The following letter was written by David Ramsour Hoyle to the widow of Pvt. James Andrew Bryant. -Miscellaneous Records- Richmond Va. July 28 1862 Mrs. Brian With the Will of God Sarah your devoted husband James was killed in Richmond on the 27 July. My beloved Friend Died doing his duty along with the bravest of men.(MISSING) He is buried in Richmond among with our Cousin Abraham Waters. I have enclosed his Bible his watch along with a petal found sprung up around him. (MISSING) Your humble servant.
