NC Troops  A Roster
ROBERT J HICKS, Private
 Born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, in October, 1841.Resided in Catawba 
County where he was by occupation a farmer prior to enlisting in Cleveland or 
Catawba County at age 20, April 22,1862, for the war. Reported absent on 
sickfurlough in June, 1862. Reported present in May-June, 1864. Reported at 
home on furlough in September-October, 1864. Surrendered at Appomattox Court 
House, Virginia, April 9, 1865.
