Mustered in as Corporal. Reported absent on sick furlough in June, 1862. Reduced rank in September-October, 1862. Rejoined the company on a unspecified date. Captured at Gettysburg, Penn., July 1, 1863. Confined at Fort Delaware, Delaware, July 6,1863. Transferred to hospital at Chester, Penn., August 10, 1863. Transferred to Point Lookout, Maryland., October 4, 1863. Released at Point Lookout, Maryland, October 4, 1864, after taking the Oath Allegiance and joining the U.S. Army. Assigned to Company C, 1st Regiment U.S. Volunteer Infantry.
