Champion This deed made the 7th day of March 1903 by Joseph Champion and Martha Ann Champion his wife of Columbus County and State of North Carolina of the first part to Humphry I. Champion of Columbus County and State of North Carolina of the second part witnesseth that said Joseph Champion and Martha Ann Champion in consideration of one hundred dollars and portion of their estate to them paid by Humphrey I. Champion the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged has bargained and sold and by these presents does bargain sell and convey to said Humphrey F. Champion his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in Columbus County State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of D.J. Cowan and others bounded as follows Viz: Beginning at the run of Turkey branch at Perkins corner runs thence due North 53 chains to a stake in the Waddell land thence with said Waddell line south 78 west 39 1/2 chains to a gum as the run of Turkey brance thence up the run of said brance to the beginning! one hundred and twenty five acres more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appentenances thereto belonging to the said Humphrey I. Champion his heirs and assigns to this only use and behalf forever. And the said Joseph Champion and Martha Ann Champion covenant with said Humphrey I. Champion his heirs and assigns that they are seized of said premises in fee and hafh right to convey in fee simple that the same are free and clear from all incumbrances and that they will warrent and defend this title to the same again the claims of all persons whomsoever in testimony whereof the said Joseph Champion and Martha Ann Champion both hereunto set their hands and seal this day and year first above written.
