Whiteville News Reporter April 4, 1934
   Reaves Ferry, April 4. - Brag B. Benton, 66 year old man of this section, 
died suddenly at his home on Monday afternoon. Although he had been in poor 
health for sometime, his death came as a shock to friends and relatives.
   The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rollen Benton, two children, 
Mrs. B.N. Long and G.W. Benton of Reaves Ferry, and two sisters and one 
brother; Mrs. J.C. Long, Mrs. Lizzie Faulk, of Lumberton, and Hamp Benton, of 
Charlotte.
   Funeral services for Mr. Benton were held on Tuesday afternoon at the 
Bethesda Methodist Church, of which the deceased was a member, and were in 
charge of the Reverend Charlie Reaves. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
