Whiteville News Reporter Oct 23, 1958
   Tallie Lewis Blackburn, 56, farmer of route 1, Clarendon, died in the 
Columbus County Hospital Sunday. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3PM 
in the Sweet Home Baptist Church by the Rev. Ansel Smith. Burial was in the 
Forest Lawn Cemetery.
   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dolly Sarvis Blackburn, two sons, Claude 
and Cecil of Clarendon, one daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane Martin of Clarendon; 
father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Blackburn of Clarendon; one 
brother, Hallie Blackburn of Houston, TX; three sisters, Mrs. S.C. Grainger of 
Dillon, Mrs. Emma Ward of Wilmington and Mrs. Rozier Powell of Loris, SC.
