George McColskey will abstract

Written 12 Feb 1886

To wife Adeline McColskey: all my estate real and personal with my goods and 
chattels during her lifetime.

To son James A. McColskey: my homestead place containing 300 acres more or 
less, after the death of my wife Adeline [includes metes and bounds description 
of land].

To daughter Mary Jane McColskey: a tract of 250 acres more or less joining the 
land just given to James A. McColskey [metes and bounds description references 
Parker's corner and Ezekial Parker's lower corner].

Personal property to be equally divided between James A. McColskey and Mary 
Jane McColskey [probably after their mother's death, though this isn't stated].

To daughter Mary E. Brown and daughter Catherine L. Warters [probably should be 
Walters] 300 acres of land, 200 acres known as the Boyt land and 100 acres on 
Button Bay known as the Bullard land, to be equally divided between them.

Executor: James R. McColskey
Witnesses:  Elias Williamson, J. R. McColskey

6 Aug 1889:  Last will and testament proved by oath of only Elias Williamson, 
the other witness J. R. McColskey being a citizen of the state of Georgia.

7 Jun 1890: Handwriting of deceased and of witness J. R. McColskey proved by 
oath of W. J. Griffin and will admitted to probate and recorded.



Additional Comments:
A James A. McColskey married Elizabeth Rozier 17 Mar 1849 in Robeson County, 
North Carolina.  The following marriages were found in Columbus County:  
Catherine L. McColskey to F. H. Walters 9 Apr 1882; Mary McColskey to D. W. Brown 
4 Oct 1883; and J. R. McColskey to Mary E. Lennon 4 Oct 1883.
