  Sept.Term 1792

            WILLIAM ALDRIDGE maketh oath,that he was bound by Recogniz-
  ance to appear at this court at September Term 1791 to appear & prose-
  cute a certain bill of indictment against WALTER CANNADY and GROVER 
  SHARP,that he appear according to the --? of his Recognizance,but he
  said GROVER SHARP,not being taken on brought into court upon said 
  Indictment he supposed there was no occasion for his attending during
  the whole term,and returned home,after which he was called upon said 
  recognizance & failing to appear,a certain conditional Judgement was
  entered upon his recognizance that a Scire?Facias? is issued upon re-
  turnable to March Term 1792.To this causewhy the said judgement should 
  not be entered made final,and being out of state at said March Term
  and not being able to appear to their cause said judgement was accord
  ingly confirmed.

  To the Sheriff or Constable of Wayne County,Greeting

  You are hereby commanded to summon JOHN STANLEY of your county forth-
  with personally to be and appear before the Judges of the Superior
  Court of Law now sitting for the District of Newborn,at the court
  house in Newbern,then and there to testify and the truth to say in 
  behalf of WILLIAM ALDRIDGE in a certain matter of controversy before
  said court depending,and then and there to be tried;between the State 
  of WILLIAM ALDRIDGE defendant.And this he shall in no wise omit under
  the penalty by law.

    Witness  SILAS COOKE,Clerk of said Court,at Newbern,the nineteenth day
  of March A.D.1794
