Name of deceased: Frank ARCHIBALD "an old colored man"
DOD: 5 April 1877
Witnesses: Sarah ARCHIBALD, Nelson ARCHIBALD, Dr. BATES
Witness statements: S. ARCHIBALD stated that she left the old man last night 
about 10:00, sitting by the fire. When she left, he got up and closed the 
door. This morning Nelson ARCHIBALD called at her house and said that he was 
burnt and dead. N. ARCHIBALD says he came to the house about daylight & found 
the old man dead & immediately reported it. Dr. BATES stated the death was 
caused by accidental burning.
Inquest verdict: Came to his death from burns received having accidentally 
caught fire while alone.
