FISHER, Noah SMITH, Kenan MURRY, Thos HOVALL, Daman BARNES, George HAMMON Witness statements: SUTTON says that he and Bob FISHER were walking down here and saw a buzzard, then going further saw a lot of buzzards down at the water. They went down and there saw the dead, who they identified as Deany BARNES. FISHER corroborates SUTTON. SMITH identified body; has known BARNES 18 years. MURRY and NORVALL corroborate SUTTON; NORVALL adds that BARNES was 65 years old. Daman BARNES says the deceased is his father Dainy BARNES. He was knocked off his boat when in the water hallowed but the boy could not "sound to" to help him. Inquest verdict: Inquest held 17 Oct 1882.
