This letter was very light and extremely hard to read. Typist did the best she could.JH) Balt. August 11 1836 Dear Sir. The depositions which I caused to be taken in Newbern and at South bend last March, henced to be used in a chancy list in Accom' Co Virginia, in the cases of rec'd Buck & agn'd John G Joyner & others - this case was for the recovery from these persons of bounty land which they had fraduately obtained from government as the heirs of Jeps Cannon. In fament of the bounty land stating Jeps Cannon a Lieutenant in the Virginia State navy which was stated, had fraduately named that was ours half pay and which government has named part owned and which belongs enductely to the secretary of War to decide over as evidence of the claim and henceforth I filed in the war office copus of the depositions above refined to manner under seals by the clerk of Accomack Co. The dec'd of thar objects to these confirs as evidence not coming under the presented unto of the infratment. I have therefore to take same depositions and lent on to no and every named of opus of these forever depositions to be an accurate by these, with the request that and soon as expected they forward these to you. The object of this letter thus is to request you as soon as those papers shall be forwarded to you to put your certificate & seal and the cut of the privilege Negroes if covenant that they do away he a paper duly withstanding and forward them to me at Harvey's Arm Somerset County, MD. Mr. And Mrs. Jones may not know as was ____(unreadable-jh) and the department likes to have some testament often responsibility and accountability of the worships or whose testimony they are to act. May I ask the favor of you when you forward those papers to write me a few lines and act to the creditability of Mr. & Mrs. Wm Jones if you know them, if not, to obtain for me from some guardian whom is known and who is acquainted after these persons a word on this first. Be so grate as to you in your accommodation and numerator of the rest of the certificates that I may forward the amount.
