Since this case took place after the one above, that is not the same person]. Witness BARBER states she was with deceased when she died. Did not seem so sick when took her onboard the steamer, but was sick before BARBER took her on board. CHAPIN stated that he was the Capt. of the Str. E. S. Terry; did not think BLOUNT was so very sick. Was well cared for on the boat. Inquest verdict: It appears that BLOUNT died onboard a steamer ship between New York and New Bern. Inquest held on Pollock St. on June 28, 1870. Verdict: Based on evidence and opinion of H.G. BATES, MD the cause of death was consumption on board the Str. E.S. Terry from New York to New Bern off Hatteras.
