Petition of John KNOX security for RIGDON BRICE, in debt.
Craven County, NC
Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
Dec. Term 1782

To the Worshipful Justices of the said Court. The humble Petition of John 
KNOX of the said County of Craven. Sheath that he is a Citizen of this State 
and that a Certain Rigdon BRICE late of Craven County aforesaid Gentleman is 
Justly indebted to your Petitioner in the Sum of Eight Pounds fourteen 
shillings & four pence proclamation money equal to the like Sum of Money in 
Specie with Interest thereon from the 29th of June 1776 by his promissory 
note of that Date that the said Rigdon BRICE hath attached himself to the 
enemies of this & the United State whereby he hath forfeited his Estate, but 
so as your petitioner is advised that the same is liable to the Satisfaction 
of his Debts. Wherefore your petitioner humbly prays your worships will be 
pleased to Grant him such relief in the promises as the Law in such cases 
imposers your Worships to Grant.
And your Pet'nr. will ever prays
