When BOYD came after them later, he found her lying in the door. Called to her 3 times; she didn't answer. Went back in the field and called for help, then went after "you." [Not sure who that refers to]. Stated FLORA cooked for him. He ate the victuals last night that she had cooked for dinner. [She died 2/26, and the inquest was 2/27, so this means he ate the food she had already cooked that night after she died]. BOYD doesn't know how she was; she complained of shortness of breath and appeared at times to be in great great misery for the past 3 years. NORCOTT says he doesn't know anything about her death, only saw her lying dead here as she is now. She was a woman of good habits. Hasn't seen her lately, but last time she was complaining of shortness of breath. Does not know her age. HAM, NEWTON, FOY, and FOREMAN say the same as NORCOTT. Inquest verdict: Inquest held at the home of Benjamin BOYD in Craven County on 27 Feb 1783. Came to her death from heart disease and old age.
