Name of deceased: Peter JONES
DOD: 20 April 1878
Witnesses: George TAYLOR, Johnnie BROWN
Witness statements: TAYLOR said that the deceased took off his clothes, got 
down on log. Said he could swim; he had learned in New York. Dove in water; 
TAYLOR saw rise to the surface twice, then he sank again and TAYLOR saw no 
more of him. BROWN says JONES went with him to the river, undressed, and went 
in swimming. He sank and BROWN saw no more of him.
Inquest verdict: Inquest 20 April 178. Find that the deceased came to his 
death by accidental drowning.
