WIGGINS testified he was working on the opposite side of the river at about 12:00, and saw a great many buzzards, so got in his canoe and paddled across the river; found the body. He returned to work until night, then went home and told people he had found a dead body. Verdict: Unknown man found about 6 miles from New Bern near Gatlin's Landing on east side of Neuse River, naked with no marks of violence; believed to be drowned from unknown cause.
