Council June 16, 1746 - June 28, 1746 Volume 04, Pages 803-814 At a Council held at Newbern 16th June 1746 Upon the Petition of Francis Beter the Executor (in Right of his Wife Eliza) of Thomas Pitson dec'ed Shewing That the Church Wardens and Vestry of Christ Church in Craven County obtained a Ne Exeat against him by which he hath been confined in New-Bern Goal since the 7th of Febry last and who at the same time filed a Bill in Chancery against him and others for a certain Legacy left to the Poor of the said Parish by a Pretended Will called the last Will and Testament of the said Thomas Pitson dec'ed And as he can shew the said Pretended Will to be unlawfull and not the last Will and Testament of the said Thomas Pitson when required, Praying to be relieved in the Premises. Whereupon His Excellency the Governor on hearing the Council for the Petition, and also for the Parish was Pleased to dissolve the said Ne Exeat.
