BOYD, Mrs. Abigail WHITE, Dr. F. BLOUNT In New Bern, near John FRANKLIN's. (Jury summons). Some person unknown, using a sharp pointed weapon, inflicted a mortal wound in the spine of the child, causing her death. Witnesses PARKER and MCCABE named a man, John REID, who approached them as officers of the law regarding 2 gold watches he says he was robbed of by Nancy SAWYER [mother of deceased]. Said if he did not get his property, he would take some lives. MCCABE said he took a dirk from REID, but when REID promised no violence, he returned it. Witness WHITE said she saw a white man came into her yard and went into her kitchen, she locked herself upstairs, heard a child scream.
