MOY states deceased is her mother. Was well the previous night when she went to bed. C. MOY says she heard her boy call deceased several times; when she didn't answer, they went into her room and found her dead; she had no pulse. She had at times complained of pain in her heart and misery in her side, and had attacks of pain in her breast. She was 70 years old. SIMMONS said he (or she) didn't know anything about it; had heard the deceased complain of not feeling well. L. MOY corroborates testimony of his wife Catherine. Inquest verdict: Inquest held at New Bern on above date--date of death not given. Deceased came to her death by causes unknown to the jury. [Note that both the STARKEY and SIMMONS cases were the same day. Both had the same coroner's jury. The witness statements from the SIMMONS case are attached to the STARKEY case and vice versa; they are clearly labeled which is which].
