BROADSTREET and wife Nettie P. BROADSTREET of County and State of aforesaid of the first part to Alexander HOOTEN of Craven County and State of North Carolina of the second part, Witnesseth: That said George C. BROADSTREET and wife Nettie P. in consideration of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) to them paid by Alexander HOOTEN the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said Alex HOOTEN and his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land in Craven County, State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of Jesse ATKINSON and others bounded as follows, viz: Bounded in the North by Neuse River, on the East by lands of Alex HOOTEN, on South by lands of Ed. J. WHITE, on the West by lands of Jesse ATKINSTON, same being part of the lands formerly belonging to Thos. E. GASKINS, dec’d and descended to Nettie P. BROADSTREET who was heir to said Thos. E. GASKINS, Dec’d. See Report of Commissioners filed in Register of Deeds Office in Craven County for full description of said land. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said Alexandr HOOTEN and his heirs and assigns to their only use and behoof forever. And the said George C. BROADSTREET and wife decent? to and with the said Alexander HOOTEN his heirs and assigns that they are seized of said premised in fee, and have right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same are free from all encumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same, against the claims of all persons whatsoever. BROADSTREET his wife, personally appeared before use this day and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed of Conveyance and the said Neattie P. BROADSTREET being, by use privately examined separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compassion of her said husband or of any other person and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
