Craven County, NC - John Council Bryan to John Sears, 1792 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Craven County NC Deed Abstract 1792 Book ?, pg. 746-747 Persons Named: Edward Cannon, Elizabeth Peters, Etheldred Peters, John Sears, John Council Bryan-High Sheriff, and Witness John Daves. Indenture made 7 June 1792 between John Council Bryan High Sheriff of Craven County of the one part and John Sears of the other part. Whereas to satisfy the suit of Edwd. Cannon against Eliz. Peters administratrix of Etheldred Peters late of Craven County decd. for the sum of 15 pounds 6 shillings damages and 4 pounds 7 pense costs directed to the Sheriff. Whereas Etheldred Peters was possessed of 120 acres of land more or less being in Craven County and on little Contentney Creek known by the name of the Ware House landing. The said Sheriff did seize said land by writ of fieir facias to raise and levy the said debt damages & costs and sold land to John Sears for 60 pounds. Witnes: John Daves Esq.
