2 October 1795 - I Edward Coward of Glasgow County in the state of North 
Carolina for the natural good Will and affection which I have & do bear towards my 
loving Daughter, Courtney Harper of the same place to give, grant and deliver 
unto her - a tract being in the County of Craven containing 100 acres - NS Great 
Contentney, SS of watering Branch --- being part of a patent granted to sd 
Edward Coward bearing date 1775
