All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jo Huettl johit@suddenlink.net December 6, 2009, 7:26 pm Written: 1815 16 Nov 1815 (Source: New Bern Register of Deeds, Book 39, Vol 2 Page 448 & 449) John Sears to John R Donnell This indenture made the 16th day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifteen between John Sears of the town of Newbern and State of North Carolina of the one part and John R Donnell of the same place of the other part Witnefseth that he the said John Sears for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand eight hundred dollars to him in paid by the said John R Donnell (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) hath granted bargained sold alined enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enfeof convey and confirm unto the said John R Donnel his heirs and afsigns a certain lot of land in the Town of Newbern lying on the west side of Middle Street Containing half an acre of ground be the same more or lefs being known in the plan f said Town by the number (346) three hundred and forty six together with all the land or ground lying between the back lines of said Lot and the backline of a lot lying on Handcock Street and formerly granted by the said John Sears to Charles Stewart by Deed bearing date the twenty third day of April one thousand eight hundred and four to have and to hold the said lot or half acre of land and the said land or ground lying on its back line with all and singular the benefits profits privileges improvements, buildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said John R Donnell his heirs and afsigns forever and the said John Sears for himself & his heirs executors and administrator doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said John R Donnell his heirs and apsigns against the lawfull claim and claim of all and every person or persons whatsoever and that the said bargained premises are free and clear of any incumbrance heretofore done or suffered. In Witnefs whereof he the said John Sears hath hereunto set his name & affixed his seal on the day & year first above written.
