All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jo Huettl johit@suddenlink.net December 6, 2009, 7:36 pm Written: 1812 23 Sept 1812 (Source: New Bern Register of Deeds, Book 33, Page 407) William Blackledge to John R Donnell This indenture made the 23rd day of September Anno domino 1812 between William Blackledge of Newbern in the County of Craven and State of North Carolina of the one part and John R Donnel of the same place Esquire of the other part Witnefseth that he the said William and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds to me paid by the said John R before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof hereby acknowledged have granted bargain and sold and by these presents do grant bargain & sell unto him the said John R the one undivided half of his the said William’s sis hundred and forty acres of land which was patented by John Fowler and Richard Blackledge situate lying and being in the County of Craven on the head of Waters of Moseley’s Creek or by reference to the patent therefore will more fully and at large appear. To have and to hold the aforementioned & granted piece or parcel of land to him the John R Donnelly his heirs and afsigns forever and he the said David Williams for himself his heirs excts and admst doth covenant the afore mentioned lands premises hereby granted to warrant & forever defend unto him the said John R Donnel his heirs and afsigns against the lawful claim of all persons claiming the same by from through or ordain the said William. In Witnefs whereof he the said William hath hereunto set his hand and seal at Newbern the day and year first above written.
