Owen Daughety Divison of Lands, 1762

North Carolina
Craven County

To all to whom these presents shall come Know ye that I Owen Daughety of the 
County of Craven and province of North Carolina send greeting Know ye that I 
the said Owen Daughety for and in the consideration of the mutual love and 
affection which I have and do bear unto my five children viz. 2 sons and 3 
daughters Owen Richard and Susannah Elizabeth Sarah have given granted and 
confirmed to them in manner and form as follows in the first place 

I given granted and confirmed unto my eldest son Owen Daughety a plantation 
whereon I live containing one hundred and forty acres to have hold use or 
dispose of pofsefs and enjoy the said land unto the said Owen Daughety his 
exec admin or afsigns forever 

secondly I have given granted and by these presents do give grant and confirm 
unto my second son Richard Daughety a piece of land lying above the bone grave 
branch to John Cormacks line to have hold use and dispose of pofefs and enjoy 
the said land and unto the said Richard Daughety his ex admin and afsigns 
forever 

Thirdly I have given granted and confirmed and by these presents do give grant 
and confirm unto my eldest daughter Susannah Broom and Elizabeth Daughety the 
lower part to Susannah and the upper part to Elizabeth to be equally divided 
between them both the land which I had of Benjamin Cooper to have and to hold 
use and dispose of and enjoy the said land unto my said daughter the said land 
unto them both forever 

fifthly and lastly I give and bequeath unto my youngest daughter Sarah the 
land where Edward Clark lived To have and to hold the said lands unto my five 
children to them there exec admin and afsigns. I will warrant and forever 
defend by these presents from the lawfull claim or claims of all and all 
manner of persons whatsoever. In witnefs whereof I have here unto set my hand 
and seal this 5th day of Jany 1762.
