Indenture made October 24, 1770 between David Lewis and Dennis Purdew both 
of Craven, for 25 pounds land in Craven on the north side of Neuse River and 
upper side of Swifts Creek called Mount Pleasant being 148 acres adjacent to 
a line in Pleasant Branch.

Witnesses: David Lewis and Charles Marshall
