Witnesseth, that the sd. Cornelius Loftin, for & in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred pounds Current money of Virginia, to him already paid, the Receipt whereof, the said Cornelius Loften doth hereby acknowledge & thereof, doth fully clearly & absolutely acquitt & discharge the said John Halloway, his heirs, Execu’s Adminis’s, by these presents; He the said Cornelius Loften doth Give, Grant, Bargain, Sell, aliene, Enfeoff, & Confirm; Do by these presents, hath Given, Granted, Bargained, Sold, aliened, Enfeoffed, & Confirmed unto him, the said John Halloway, his heirs & Assigns for Ever, a Certain Tract or Parcell of Land, Lying & being in the County of Craven, in the Province and on the South Side of Neuse River; beginning at a White Oak near the half moon Swamp; & Runs S Eighty-Six Deg’ s, E’st Twenty Six pole. Then South Twelve, West Twelve poles to a stake. Then S Eighty deg’s, East Twenty poles to a Red Oak. Then South Thirty four. East six poles to a Hickeroy, Then South Seventy Deg’s; East sixty three poles to a Hickeroy; then South Ten Degrees, West forty Poles to a pine, Then South Eighty Degrees, East along Williams his line to a White Oak on the Stony Branch; Then up the Branch S. forty five Degrees. East, Ninety Two Poles to a Gum at the Head of the Branch; then South Twelve Deg’ s, West One hundred seventy four poles to a Pine by a Pond; then N. Sixty Deg’s. West Twenty poles to a pine, then North Seventy four Deg’s. West Sixty poles to a Gum by a Branch; then the various Courses of the Branch to an Ash near the half moon Swamp; then N. Twelve. East One hundred & sixty poles to the Beginning. containing three hundred Acres of Land, be the same more or Less; & the same being part of a Greater Tract of Land Granted to the Said Cornelius Loften, by Patent dated this 20th day of August 1730, as by Record may appear; To have & to hold the aforesaid Three hundred Acres of Land, together with all Rights Profits, Privileges & appurtenances to same belonging; or in any wise appertaining; to him the Said John Halloway, his heirs & assigns for Ever; for Ever; to his & their only proper use & behoof. And the s’d Cornelius Loften for himself, his heirs & doth hereby covenant promise; and agree to & with the Said John Halloway, his heirs & assigns, that He the said John Halloway his heirs & assigns, shall & may for ever hereafter, have, hold, use, occupy, possess, & enjoy the aforesaid bargained Land & Premises, without the - - - - Trouble, Denial or Interruption of him the said Cornelius Loften; or his heirs, etc. And the said Cornelius Loften for himself, & his heirs doth further covenant, promise, grant & agrees to & with the s’d John Halloway, his heirs & assigns, that He the said Cornelius Loften, his heirs, Exec’rs etc, The aforesaid three hundred acres of Land & Premises unto him the said John Halloway , his Heirs & Assigns. Shall & will warrant & for Ever defend against all former Bargains, Sales, Leases, Claims, & Incumbrances whatsoever. And the said Cornelius Loftin doth further for himself, his heirs, covenant, promise, grant & agree to & with the said John Halloway, his heirs & assigns, that He the said Cornelius Loftin and his Heirs, shall and will, at any time hereafter at the Bequest Cost & Charge of the said John Halloway, his heirs and assigns suffer, make, do, acknowledge, execute & deliver all or any other further, lawful Deed or Conveyance, such as the said John Halloway, his heirs or assigns, his or their Council shall reasonably advise or require for the further, better, purely and sure making the said Land & Premises unto him, the said John Halloway, his Heirs & Assigns for Ever. n Witness whereof.
