All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Kathy Wilde wildekat@hotmail.com October 28, 2005, 1:10 am Written: October 9, 1822 Recorded: February 1824 State of North Carolina Beaufort County This the ninth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two Ephraim Pearce of the County of Craven and Alexander Redit of the aforesaid county — Witnesseth, that the said Ephraim Pearce for and in consideration of the sum of one Hundred and twenty-five dollars to him in hand paid by the said Alexander Reditt the receipt whereof the said Ephraim Pearce doth hereby acknowledge Hath Given granted bargained and sold [to] the said Alexander Redit and confirmed by these presents doth give grant bargain and Sell alien and confirm unto Allexander Redit his heirs and assigns for ever, all that tract of Land, Situate lying and being in the county of Beaufort, on the south side Pamptico River, and east side of Blounts Creek, bounded as follows, beginning at a pine John Pattens and John Robertsons corner tree of both pattents, runing with Patten line South seventy-one east two hundred and forty eight poles to his corner a pine, then with his other line North fourteen west four hundred and eighty poles to William Clarks line, then with Clarks line North Seventy east one hundred and Seventy eight pole to John Roses corner a pine, then with his line south three West one hundred and ten poles to his corner a pine, then South Seventy three west twenty poles to a pine Thomas Smiths corner on the side of a branch, then South forty two west forty poles, then South four west, twenty-six poles, then South twenty eight west sixty-six poles, then South thirty seven east one hundred and ten poles to a black Gum in the lower side of the long Reedy pond, then south thirty three west, one hundred and thirty poles to a pine in Forburs Gerards line, then with his line North eighty west three hundred and sixty five poles to a Small branch, then North thirteen west eighty-five poles to said Robersons corner a pine, then the his line to the beginning to contain two hundred acres of Land. To have and to hold the aforesaid Land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Alexander Redit his heirs and assigns & the only purposes and behoof of the said Alexander Redit his heirs and assigns forever and the said Ephraim Pearce for himself and heirs and the aforesaid lands and premises and every part thereof against himself and his heirs against the claims of all and every other person whatsoever to the said Alexander Redit his heirs and assigns shall and will warant and for ever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said Ephraim Pearce hereunto sets his hand and Seal the day and date above written.
