To all Christian people to whom these presents shall me greeting. Know ye that 
I Abraham Bupset Simmons of Craven County in the province of North Carolina 
Planter for an in consideration of the sum of twelve pounds poc money to me in 
hand paid before the ensealing & delivery by John Perry Junr of the County and 
Province aforesaid Planter the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and 
myself therewith fully satisfied & contented and thereof and wory part and 
parcel thereof do exonerate acquit and discharge the said John Perry Junr his 
heirs executors and administrators for whereby these presents have given 
granted bargained sold alienated conveyed and confirmed and by these presents 
do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell aline convey and 
conform unto the said John Perry Junr his heirs & apsigns forever one certain 
mepuage and tract of land situated lying and being in the County and 
Providence aforesaid and on the south side of Trent River near the mouth of a 
Neck call'd deep Neck butted and bounded as follows. Beginning at a pine 
standing a line of a tract of land patented by Thomas Robinson and running N 
70 E 20 poles to a pine thence 34E 102 poles to a pine near the Elme Branch 
thence S72 poles to John Perry and Line then along the said John Perry Junr 
line and so to the first beginning to conclude eighty four acres of land it 
being part of a tract of land taken up by Michael Koonce as by patent will 
appear to have and to hold the said granted and bargained premipes with all 
the appurtenances privileges and commodities to the same belonging in any were 
appertaining to him the said John Perry Junr his heirs and apigns forever his 
and their only proper the benefit & Behoof forever and I the said Abraham 
Bupset Simmons for me my heirs executors and administrators do covenant 
promise and grant to and with the said John Perry Junr his heirs and apsigns 
that before the ensealing and delivery thereof I am the true sole and lawful 
owner of the above bargained premises and am lawfully seized and proposes of 
the same in mine own proper right as a good perfect and absolute estate of 
inheritance and have in myself good right full power and lawfull authority to 
grant bargain sell convey and confirm the said bargained poemy in manner as 
above said and that the said John Perry Jnr his heirs and apigns shall and may 
from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by neither of these 
present lawfully peaceably and quickly have hold use occupy enjoy the said 
demised and bargained premises with all the appendances free and clear and 
fully and clearly acquitted eaoranated and discharge of and from all and all 
manner of former gifts grants bargains sales leases mortgages wills entails 
jointures dowries judgments execution in cumbrances and douth whatsoever and I 
the said Abraham Bupset Simmons do further covenant and kind myself my heirs 
executors and administrators formerly by these presents to warrant and defend 
the said John Perry Junr his heirs and apigns in quit and peaceable deception 
of all and ungula the said granted premipes against any just and lawful claim 
of any person or persons whatsoever.
In witneps where I the said Abraham Bupset Simmons have hereunto set my hand 
and seal this twenty seventh day of December in the year of our lord One 
thousand seven hundred and sixty eight 1768.
