Know yee, that we the said Lords and Absolute Proprietors for and in consideration of the sum of twelve pounds, sixteen shillings in hand paid to our Receiver General by Cornelius, do give, grant, sell, alain, ------- and conform unto the said Cornelius Loftin, a tract of land containing six hundred and forty acres on the South side of the Neuse River, Beginning at a white oak, standing by the half moon Branch and runs up the Branch South 12 West 320 poles to a poplar then S 80 East 320 poles to a pine then N. 12 East 320 poles to Coll. Handcocks line so to the beginning. To have and to hold the said land with the privilages of Hunting, Hawking, fishing and fowling with all Woods Waters and Rivers, with profits, comodities ,& Hereditaments to the same belonging or appertaining (excepting the half of all the gold and silver mines) unto him the sad Cornelius Loftin, his Heirs and assigns forever, yielding and paying to us, our Heirs and Successors yearly every twenty-ninth day of September, the fee rent of one shilling for every hundred acres hereby granted – to be holden of us , our heirs and successors in the free and common socage , given under the Seal of the Colony Aug. 29 1730.
