All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jo Huettl johit@suddenlink.net December 6, 2009, 7:19 pm Written: 1815 1 June 1815 (Source: New Bern Register of Deeds, Book 39, Pages 503 & 504) Edward Graham, John Stanly, John R Donnell and Eli Smallwood to John C Stanly This indenture made the first day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifteen between Edward Graham, John Stanly, John R Donnell and Eli Smallwood of the one part and John C Stanly of the other part Witnefseth that the said Edward Graham, John Stanly, John R Donnell and Eli Smallwood in consideration of the sum of twelve hundred dollars to them secured to be paid by the said John C Stanly, have grant granted bargain and sell unto the said John C Stanly his heirs and afsigns a piece of land situate in Newbern at the corner of Hancock and New Streets being two undivided third parts, the whole unto three parts to be divided of the lot known in the plan of Newbern by the number two hundred and eighty four (N 284) To have and to hold the said two undivided third parts of said lot to the said John C Stanly his heirs and afsigns forever and the said Edward Graham, John Stanly, John R Donnell and Eli Smallwood for themselves and their heirs do covenant and agree to and wit the said John C Stanly his hers and afsigns that they will warrant and defend the premifses hereby granted against the lawfull claims of all persons except only against the claim or right of Sarah Harris widow of Edward Harris deceased to dower in the said premifses. In Witnefs whereof the said Edward Graham John Stanly, John R Donnell and Eli Smallwood have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
