Craven County, NC - Samuel Gerock Postmaster, 1804 ~~~~~~~~~~ Newbern, Jan. 20 Mr. Samuel Gerock is appointed Post Master at this place in the room of John S. Pastuer, "deranged". On Saturday, the 14th instant, the following letter was handed to the subscriber. In a future number, perhaps our next, it may not be necessary to make a few remarks on it, when "an essay towrds a statement" of the causes which produced the letter will be attempted. J.S. Pasteur General Post-Office, Dec. 20, 1803 Sir, Believing that the public interest will be promoted by the appointment of a new Post-Master at Newbern, NC I have accordingly appointed Mr. Samuel Gerock Post-master at that place, to whom, on the receipt of this, you will please to deliver all the Post-office property in your possession, taking his receipt there-for if you desire.
