A second centinel seeing him approach, also hailed him, but receiving no answer, he inconsiderately fired his piece - simultaneous with the report of which was heard the cries of the wounded, which, in the next moment, were found to proceed from Mr. John S. Clements, of this town, who lay badly wounded, several buck shot having entered his body. He died this morning at 1 o'clock and has left a family and many acquaintenances to lament his untimely death.
